What is Wagyu? Wagyu means Japanese Cow and can include any of one of four breeds of Japanese Cow. Here at Lilac Hill Wagyu we have fullblood black Wagyu.  Another popular type of Wagyu is Akushi which we may breed at a later time. Wagyu were first brought to the U.S. in 1975.

Wagyu beef is higher in marbling than most beef  and has a unique taste & texture. When prepared correctly the marbling bastes the meat from the inside out adding to the juiciness and buttery flavor. A properly cooked Wagyu steak will melt in your mouth.

Not only is Wagyu delicious , it is healthy for you too. When compared to other beef the mono-saturated fat levels are higher, 300% higher due to its amazing marbling and higher concentrations of oleic acid. 40% of the fat is known as stearic acid which is proven to have a lower impact on cholesterol levels. Wagyu is also 30% higher is CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) than most other beef as well. It is also higher in omega 3 and 6. Wagyu is heart healthy!! You read that right a heart healthy red meat!!! Try some today. Just please do not hate us when you can not eat regular meat anymore.
